Description

The San Francisco Conservation Corps (SFCC) is a non-profit job training and education program serving adolescents and young adults ages 12-24. SFCC aims to enable youth to develop their job skills, good work habits, social skills, self-esteem, civic awareness, and academic and leadership abilities. The SFCC has four sites: the Fort Mason Center which houses both the Administrative Headquarters and the Community Service and Training (CST) Center, and the ECO Center located in the Mission District SFCC ECO Center serves approximately 100 middle and high school students (called Junior Corpsmembers) through Youth in Action (YIA), an after-school, weekend, and summer program emphasizing academic enrichment, leadership development, community service projects and environmental education. Four professional staff, headed by the Associate Director of Youth Programs, manage a diverse group of approximately 24 Americorps members (ages 18-24). The Corpsmembers teach, mentor, and support the Junior Corpsmembers (ages 12-17).
