Mission Statement
The Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is New York's primary institution of public education about modern Jewish history and the Holocaust. The Museum tells the moving story of 20th century Jewish life from the perspective of those who lived it. Weaving together personal experiences and world events, it paints an evocative portrait of a people, a catastrophe, and an indomitable spirit. Created as a living memorial to the victims of the Holocaust, the Museum honors those who died by celebrating their lives and legacy. It conveys a message of memory and hope that is of universal significance.
Description
The Museum has 70 paid and 130 unpaid staff who contribute to the organization's goals. Development, Communications, Collections and exhibitions, Education, Finance and Administration, and Operations are the departments that form the Museum.
