Mission Statement

The Golden Gate Audubon Society is an independent environmental conservation and education organization that has birds as a key component. GGAS members seek to protect and enjoy wildlife and their natural habitats. The organization provides these values through interaction between its membership and the community.

Description

GGAS has environmental education programs in Oakland and the city of Alameda. Volunteer environmental educators teach elementary school students about local wildlife in the classroom and at two outdoor locations: the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Park and the Alameda Wildlife Refuge. Students participate in small group hands on activities.
