Description
Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge is one of over 500 such refuges in the United States. Eastern Neck is located on Maryland's eastern shore, at the confluence of the Chester River and the Chesapeake Bay. Eastern Neck provides key habitat for migrating and wintering waterfowl, as well as the threatened bald eagle and the endangered Delmarva fox squirrel. Eastern Neck serves as a site for environmental education for local school groups and youth groups. In addition, Eastern Neck provides opportunities for wildlife-dependent recreation, such as hunting, fishing, hiking, wildlife observation, and photography.
