The Mission of Taxpayer Education and Electronic Tax Administration is to provide and support a well trained and dedicated staff of IRS personnel and volunteers to assist, educate, and inform the public of its tax rights and responsibilities and to revolutionize how taxpayers transact and communicate with the IRS.

Description

Volunteer and Education Programs are a part of the IRS's overall effort to encourage voluntary compliance by making taxpayers aware of their rights and responsibilities under the tax laws and helping them to do a more complete and accurate job of preparing their returns. This educational process is carried out systemically through programs that have carefully planned and developed curricula attuned to the individual needs of the taxpaying public.
