Mission Statement

"When people hurt, we want to be there."

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit charitable organization striving to meet the needs of the less fortunate. We distribute food to families in need twice monthly the year round. Each August we distribute school clothing and supplies to needy students. Each Thanksgiving and Christmas we give holiday baskets that include a turkey or ham to needy families. We need cash donations as our contributions were very low this year. We have cared for one homeless child in our home since her birth five years ago. We are receiving no monies for care or medical attention. She is very bright and for her protection we have set up an Educational Trust Fund for her and other deserving kids. We would appreciate cash or stock to help on the trust fund.

I have worked with Gwen and Alton Peters for several years as a volunteer in the past. At present my husband and I donate funds as often as we can because we know that the money goes to very good causes. They work with the poor low income families. They donate food and clothing to them directly. At the beginning of each school year they provide winter jackets and backpacks and school supplies to the children. They are both incredibly dedicated to their mission of helping the poor and disadvantaged in the San Jose area. I admire them both for their commitment and energy at an age when they could be retired and taking life easy. Vivi A., Carlsbad, CA

This a small nonprofit that is doing an outstanding job serving the local community by providing food and clothing for families in need. SJNTC has received awards and letters of commendation from a former San Jose Mayor and Congressman for the continued work in serving the poor. They are definitely worth donating to!
