Apply to volunteer at www.rvhabitatrestore.org ( we do not always have staff to respond on this site) What is a ReStore: The ReStore is open to the general public and sells gently used and new furniture, household items, tools, appliances and more to the public, at bargain prices. The proceeds build affordable homes for low and moderate income families in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties and helps keep items out of our landfills. Every donation and sale, changes a life. Some of our volunteer opportunities are sales floor, merchandising/pricing, donation drop off, concierge and more! Ages 14 and over are Welcome! There is a job for everyone at the ReStore! The Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, serving Somerset and Hunterdon counties, Community Relations Team is a great way to get involved and share the word about Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity! Our Community Relations Team is looking for volunteers to serve as ambassadors in reaching out to the faith based, community, civic and corporate organizations in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties as well as volunteers for the committee. This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity that builds homes, communities and hope in our area.

RV Habitat Repair Programs Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity offers repair help for Hunterdon and Somerset County homeowners who qualify as low or moderate income. Repair programs include: Brush With Kindness Smaller scale help including clearing basements, yard cleanup, deck maintenance, and small paint or repair jobs. These projects are no cost to the homeowner, but donations are appreciated. Home Safety and Repair Slightly larger projects like installing sheetrock, flooring, cabinets, or window panes. Homeowners pay a percentage of the project cost based on the sliding payback scale based on income. Critical Home Repair Larger repairs that address homeowners’ health and safety. Examples include repairing ramps, railings, or entry doors; furnace replacement; siding repair necessary for the protection of the home, and accessibility upgrades. Homeowners will be responsible for a portion of the costs determined on a sliding scale based on income. Payments can be made over time with zero interest. Neighborhood Revitalization Neighborhood Revitalization offers a chance for communities to partner with RV Habitat, residents, local organizations, and businesses to improve their neighborhoods. Examples include community clean-ups, park improvements, and street-scaping as well as improvements on qualified residents’ homes.
