SPURS (Special People Using Riding Skills)

Description

Therapeutic Riding is the core of our program. Istructors, with the help of trained volunteers, help riders achieve their goals, acquire horsemanship skills and establish a special bond with their equine partner.

SPURS Volunteers are trained to groom, tack, handle horses, and to walk alongside riders, helping to support and stabilize them. Our Volunteers help many of our riders train for the Equestrian games at Special Olympics. Volunteers also help with special events and fundraisers, including our yearly Barn Dance and Auction and our Spring Concert Dance.
