Mission Statement

Clark Elementary Kids House is an after-school initiative that provides a safe, caring, and structured environment in which children are not only empowered to recognize the value of their abilities, but are encouraged to contribute positively to their community.

Description

Clark Elementary is located in the Ward Four Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC and serves a multi-cultural population of African-American, Latino, African and Caribbean students from Head Start to grade five. At Clark Elementary, we believe that every child is unique, valuable, lovable, and has the innate ability to learn regardless of sex, ethnic, social, religious, or economic background. We also believe that every child has an inalienable right to be educated in a setting that is safe, functional, caring, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate.
