Mission Statement
To discover, protect and revitalize the architectural and related cultural heritage of the Rochester region. To educate and inform our community about that heritage.
Description
In 1937, a desire on the part of local residents to save the historic but neglected Campbell-Whittlesey House in Corn Hill, was the genesis of the Landmark Society. Since then, we have evolved into a major preservation organization, dedicated to preserving, interpreting and fostering interest in the architectural, historical and cultural heritage of our region. We take many paths to meet our goals but in designing our events, educational activities, and preservation programs, we strive to create a positive environment for historic buildings and places. We are hoping to foster a world in which every historic building is cared for by a loving, informed owner.
