Mission Statement

We, the members of NCSOPHE, are committed to improving the health of all people and their communities. We achieve this by supporting health educaiton and contributing to the professional preparation and practice of health educators. The tenets of our practice include passionately striving for advocacsy, collaboration, community participation, coordination, education, and environmental and social change. We believe a diverse membership promotes the acheivement of our goals for public policy and ensures professional and ethical stardards of practice.

Description

Originating in 1952, NCSOPHE remains the largest chaper of the Society for Public Health Education, Inc. or National SOPHE. NCSOPHE is a professional organization of individuals actively involved in health education, students, and emeriti. Currently, there are 350 members representing diverse backgrounds and working in a variety of locations throughout Northern California. NCSOPHE is a membership based organization offering members an email job bank, professional development workshops, community service opportunities, annual conference, networking, mentoring programs and many more programs to enhance the professionalism of the field of health education.
