Mission Statement

We will lead Ohio in delivering affordable, quality health care that exceeds the service and value expectations of our customers. We will demonstrate our success through market leading performance and fulfillment of our social purpose, which requires: 1. superior quality, 2. superior affordability, 3. competitive service, and 4. market sustainability. Skilled people, working together and committed to achieving this vision, are our greatest resource.

Kaiser Permanente is America's largest not-for-profit health maintenance organization, serving 8 million members in 11 states and the District of Columbia. Here in Northeast Ohio, we've been delivering innovative health care protection for 35 years. We currently serve 180,000 members in Northeast Ohio. As a not-for-profit organization, we are driven by the needs of our members and our social obligation to provide benefit for the communities in which we operate, rather than the needs of the shareholders. Parma Medical Offices, originally located at Pearl and Ridge Roads, were opened in 1966. In 1969 the Snowview Nursing Home on Snow Road was acquired for conversion into a medical center, which was completed in June, 1972. A new medical office building with 56 physician offices was opened in 1976, and in May 1977, the center added a new 82-bed hospital. The Parma Medical Center underwent renovation in 1993 to accomodate specialty provider space. In addition, throughout 1993, the Parma Hospital was converted to a high-level diagnostic and treatment center for ambulatory care. Parma also added a 20-bed observation unit for patients needing up to 24 hours of monitoring and nursing. In December 1993, as a result of a long-term contract affilitation with the Cleveland Clinic, all inpatient care for members in Cuyahoga County shifted from the Parma Medical Center to the Cleveland Clinic. Parma Medical Center continues to provide outpatient surgery, primary care, and 24-hour emergency care. All of our services are provided at this facility and they include: Allergy, Audiology, Cardiology, Dermatology, 24 hour emergency services, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Mammography, Neurology, Nephrology, Nuclear Medicine, Nutrition, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Otalaryngology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Rheumatology, Surgery and Urology.
