Mission Statement

The mission of the Cats About Town Society (C.A.T.S.) is

  1. to stop the suffering of homeless and abandoned cats and kittens;
  2. to adhere to a strict no-kill policy;
  3. and to continually work towards a community where every cat and kitten has a safe and loving home.

Description

We are an all-volunteer non-profit cat rescue group. We do not have a shelter. We use volunteer "foster" homes who care for the cats until permanent homes can be found. We also work with members of the public who are willing to continue to shelter and provide for their pets until they can be placed in new homes. We provide testing, spay/neuters, vaccinations, & other medical care to our rescued cats. We currently place around 600 cats and kittens in new homes annually. Our primary adoption site is the Truxel Petsmart on Saturdays and Sundays. We also do special events at other sites.

Would you recommend Cats About Town Society?

Cats about Town Society does important work and has a great bunch of dedicated volunteers. There are many ways to help- cat/kitten fostering, pet care, fund-raising, events, clerical, maintenence and of course...helping to find kitties their perfect forever homes. I've had fun doing plenty of different things for C.A.T.S. - and get rewarded for it every time I look into the beautiful eyes and loving heart of a rescued kitty!
