Mission Statement

The purpose of Haven House is to provide assistance to young people, ages 10-18 and their families before, during and after times of crisis. This assistance can include education, training, and advocacy, as well as residential care. All programs are fully integrated into the community system. Haven House further carries out its purpose through the desgn and operation of programs to promote good family practices.

Description

Youth Enrichment Services recruits volunteers at least 18 years of age to act as a caring, posiitve role model and friend to a court involved or at risk youth in order to increase the youth's self-esteem and develop positive relationship skills. Long range goal is to curb deliquent behavior. Activities should include a mix of recreational and life skills teaching opportunities. All potential volunteers have to go through a screening process which includes a structured interview, criminal and driving history check, and a six hour mandatory training. The volunteers must all have means of transportation.
