Mission Statement

The Capital of Texas Aquarium will work to expand the knowledge, awareness and concern of visitors about local and worldwide aquatic habitats and to engage these visitors in stewardship and actions that preserve and protect the unique qualities of these environments.

Description

The Capital of Texas Aquarium is in the early development stage of a planned aquatic science center to be built in Austin, Texas. The Aquarium will provide a combination of entertainment, education and economic development that is currently unavailable in the Central Texas area. In addition to habitats highlighting the aquatic life of the Colorado River, we will offer hands on interactive experiences, multimedia educational presentations and exhibits exploring the scientific and biological wonders of our planet. Our onsite classrooms and staff teachers will provide learning experiences for local students from kindergarten through college including internships and volunteer opportunities.
