Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our organization exists to commission, develop and present a wide range of high-quality contemporary performance. Through this, we hope to:
- support the artists (Philadelphia-based, regional, national, international) who create this work;
- challenge, stimulate, entertain and educate the diverse audiences who see this work;
- provide opportunities for - and invest in - local artists in such a way as to lead to the continued growth and health of the local and regional performing arts community; and
- engage fully in the global dialogue and global community surrounding this kind of work.
The Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe were originally founded in 1997 as the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The Live Arts Festival features selected cutting-edge performing arts events, created by some of the most renowned contemporary artists from our region and around the world. The Philly Fringe â which provides opportunities for any artist, independent of a selection process, to self-produce their work â represents the true international â Fringeâ movement. In 2005, the ninth year of the Festival, we attracted over 45,000 attends. Since its inception in 1997, the Fringe has presented and facilitated the work of over 1,500 performing groups.
