Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of the Healthy Babies Project is to reduce the dangerously high rates of infant deaths, illnesses, and low birth weight, as well as improve the health outcomes for at-risk mothers and infants, by reaching out to high-risk, low-income, substance-abusing pregnant women and their families.
The Healthy Babies Project is a drop-in facility where the staff works collaboratively with other community-based organizations and agencies to provide risk assessments; offer family support counseling and treatment interventions; create links to needed resources; and make referrals to medical and social services. Current programs include: a teen pregnancy program, an immunization program, parenting education, child abuse prevention, the FATHERS male mentoring initiative, substance abuse intervention and social service assistance.
