Food For Thought is a nonprofit organization providing medically tailored groceries and meals to our neighbors in Sonoma County affected by serious medical conditions. Food For Thought hosts food drives at grocery stores across Sonoma County. Volunteers are needed to greet shoppers with "wish lists" as they enter the store and enthusiastically accept donations as they leave. A single food drive typically generates between 200 and 500 of our most needed items, raising $2,500-$4,000 in food for our neighbors in need! You will report directly to the grocery store and shift of your choosing. We visit 3 grocery stores in Santa Rosa monthly. Our food drives take place at the Oliver's Market locations on Montecito Blvd. and Stony Point Rd., as well as the Safeway on Mendocino Ave. Once we have walked you through your first food drive shift, you can sign up for shifts as they work for you--help monthly, weekly, or as your schedule allows. FUN FOR ALL AGES--bring friends and family. Food Drives fall on most Saturdays and some Wednesdays and shift times are: 10:00am-12:30pm 12:30pm-3:00pm 3:00pm-5:00pm Requirements: Ability to stand on concrete while greeting shoppers for a 2.5 hour volunteer shift Willingness to greet shoppers with our donation "wish list" #cesarchavezday2024 #doloreshuertaday2024 #CesarChavezDaySonomaCounty *Important information *Volunteer time shifts are broken down into the following time frames: Saturday Morning Saturday Afternoon
