Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
To monitor and disseminate research on all fiscal activities at all levels of government federal, state, and local -- to advance policies promoting economic growth and a principaled approach to tax policy. To provide information and educational opportunities to policy makers relating to the critical issues of the day and to long-term issues. To maintain a non-partisan approach to policy analysis. To apply rigorously the Tax Foundation's Pricnicples of Taxation: *Well informed citizenry - people must know who and what is being taxed and how tax legislation is enacted. *Simplicity - Complexity makes accurate tax compliance needlessly expansive and punitive. *Stability - frequent change lessens citizens understanding of the tax code and complicates long range financial planning. *No retroactivity - taxpayers must have confidence in the law as it exists entering into a transaction. *Neutrality - the primary purpose of taxes is to raise revenue, not to micromanage the economy with subsidies and penalties. The tax system should favor neither consumption saving and investment. *Promote economic growth - The US tax system should not impede the free flow of goods, services, and capital, domestically or internationally.
