Mission Statement

To provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency .

Description

Emergency Financial Assistance- helps prevent evictions, utility disconnections, and hunger.

Free Store/Furniture and Appliance store- provides clothing, household items, and furniture to low- income families at no cost.

Through our mission we are:

addressing the immediate crisis with emergency rent and utility assistance, clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.

providing counseling, services and support to give families the tools they need to move toward financial stability.

educating the community about the realities of poverty in Mecklenburg County.

I volunteered here regularly for about two months, and I really loved the people. All of the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, it is well organized, and air conditioned. Really great for people off all ability levels, and they are one of the only places that allows special needs adults to help out and get involved.

I have been in needed situation myself and there are those there that care and want to help those who want to help themselves. Most times people need hope, help to continue the strength to move forward and upward.
