Mission Statement

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program provides a variety of opportunities for persons over the age of 55 to participate more fully in the life of their community through significant volunteer service.

Description

The RSVP of Greater Whittier is a program of the YMCA of Greater Whittier. Membership is free. RSVP volunteers serve agencies located in Downey, Pico Rivera, Norwalk, La Mirada, La Habra Heights and Whittier. These volunteers serve without compensation. They may be reimbursed for transportation and are provided with secondary liability,injury and vehicle insurance. The RSVP of Greater Whittier partners with 70 different agenices including senior nutrition centers, meals on wheels, the Whittier Area Literacy Council the Whittier Police Department and the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. RSVP also supplies reading tutors for school age children and adults.
