I was a waiting room reader at Lord Memorial Building/ Children's Aid Society for a short time, and found that the staff were very supportive of the Reach Out and Read (ROR) early literacy initiative. The front desk staff were eager to direct parents to the reading area, and explain what I was doing, and how important it is to read to their children as early and as often as possible. As a volunteer, I was grateful to them for supporting me and ROR's cause. Thumbs up to the folks at the Lord Memorial center for making my experience as a Reach Out and Read volunteer an unforgettable one, but, more crucial than that, for making the "Reach Out and Read" mission a successful reality by keeping the waiting room and visiting room book shelves well stocked with eye-catching picture books: An organization, no matter how worthy on its own, is only as good as its supporting anchors; the people who engage it. Yes, therefore, I would very likely recommend this organization to a friend or colleague
