Mission Statement

The purpose of the Glacier Society is to restore and operate the USS/USCGC Glacier as a functioning Museum ship honoring all who served in the exploration of the North and South Poles. Both in Port and while underway, the Glacier will provide hands on training to children and adults while teaching the history of the exploration of the Poles. She is one of only a few United States Ships to serve under the colors of both the Navy and the Coast Guard.

Description

We are a not for profit 501(c)3 educational foundation, based in Stratford CT. The ship is currently in San Fransisco Bay, at the Navy Inactive Ship Fleet.
