Mission Statement

The Foster Grandparent Program's mission is to provide volunteer opportunities for Seniors. These opportunities enable Seniors to offer beneficial relationships to children and young adults. The Program also benefits Volunteer Stations, where the scope of regular duties often makes it impossible for staff to give personal attention to individuals who need this special dimension of care. 1. To encourage Seniors to remain physically and mentally active and to enhance their self-esteem through continued participation in community service. 2. To enable children to achieve improved physical, mental, emotional, and social development, thereby enabling them to have a positive self-image, assisting them to grow up emotionally healthy and physically strong.

Description

Foster Grandparents work with children and young adults in a variety of settings. They offer encouragement, friendship and guidance to children of all ages. Foster Grandparents strengthen the youth of our community by sharing the expertise and knowledge they have gained over the years.
