Work toward the prevention of birth defects and infant mortality through research, education, community service, and advocacy.

Description

Created by President Roosevelt to find a cure for polio. After accomplishing that, the organization focused its efforts on saving the lives of babies. March of Dimes has funded research that created the neonatal intensive care unit, PKU screening test and Apgar test, folic acid, surfactant therapy, and much more. We are volunteer driven, staff supported.
