Mission Statement

TARC is committed to ensuring that people with mental retardation enjoy the same rights as do all citizens, so they may pursue their choices and have opportunities that are available to all.

Description

TARC is a network of programs that help people with developmental disabilities, their families, and associates take advantage of opportunities to make informed choices and advocate for their rights. TARC was founded in 1952, by parents of children with developmental disabilities. The passion they demonstrated ignites TARC's mission as an advocacy organization that empowers people, enabling them to attract the support they need to live satisfying lives.
