Mission Statement

The purpose and goals of IEFS are to provide a permanent sanctuary for exotic felines that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, confiscated, or previously owned by people unwilling or unable to provide for these magnificent animals. Additionally, the sanctuary educates the public about the value and worht of these sensitive, intelligent, and perceptive felines, so that their future, as an important part of our world, is insured.

Description

International Exotic Feline Sanctuary was founded in Boyd, Texas, in 1988 as a 501(c)(3), non-profit tax-exempt corporation. IEFS's current mission is the care and welfare of its felines inhabitants, as well as educating the public about their needs. The felines include bobcats, cougars, jaguars, leopards, lions, servals, and tigers, among other species. As of June 1, 2000 70 felines call IEFS home, with spacious habitats, pools and houses. the employees and volunteers who care for the felines give them the quality of life to which they are entitled.
