The mission of the Spark Community Outreach Program (SCOP) is to assist our clients to improve the quality of their lives. Our goal is to focus on single parent families, most of whom receive governmental assistance, and have children and adolescents that are at risk. SCOP strives to stay abreast of the ever-increasing needs of the community. We collaborate with agencies that also strive to improve the quality of life of our neighbors and are instrumental in rebuilding and revitalizing communities such as ours.
We have an after school-tutoring program for students. Our staff, with the help of volunteers teach reading and other fundamentals of education to our inner-city students. We offer summer-camp and field trips for our youth. We have limited emergency facilities for homeless women with children. We provide them with temporary lodging while assisting them in obtaining training and employment. We have a computer laboratory in which our clients can prepare resumes or improve on technical skills to make themselves more marketable. Normally provide clients with info-line or other services agency. In some circumstances we will make phone calls to set up appointments for clients.
