As an early-stage social engagement volunteer, you will plan, implement and provide a positive experience during social engagement events and activities for people living with memory loss and their care partners. Volunteers in this role will: » Provide hospitality, support and volunteer oversight for attendees of early-stage groups and social engagement events. » Consult with staff and early-stage advisors to schedule early-stage engagement activities, secure event logistics, ensure group safety and coordinate volunteers. » Manage social engagement program attendance statistics and rosters. » Collect, distribute and manage materials and literature needed by early-stage attendees at events. » Follow expectations and recommendations detailed in this guidebook, including the transition of group members, participation in ongoing training and record-keeping. » Connect members of the community with additional Association services by proactively making referrals to Association programs and the 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900).

Data Entry Volunteers Alzheimer's Association Data Entry Volunteers are responsible for entering constituent data and other information into the Association’s databases, ensuring that records for the Association are updated and accurate. Key Activities: Data entry into the Personify software system. Data could come from various departments and require different levels of entry. Position requires being able to interpret data received in different forms, including but not limited to: hand written communication, typed forms, Google docs, online data, faxed forms, incoming mail, and email. Position requires a high level of organization and some problem solving skills. The person filling this position needs to be comfortable with a lot of computer work and interacting with many staff and volunteers. Qualifications: Demonstrated ability with integrated CRM software systems. Demonstrated success in data entry. Familiarity with email, google drive, calendar. Highly detail oriented with project management skills to take initiative and check own work for accuracy. Takes initiative to research and investigate missing data. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Proactive and passionate about the mission of Alzheimer’s Association. Must be age 18 to apply. Background checks are required. Commitment Expected: Data Entry Volunteers commit to a 1-year term which is renewable upon successful completion of annual goal-setting conversation with your staff partner. Orientation includes: online general volunteer orientation (1 hour) + program volunteer orientation (1 hour) + Personify database training (8 hours). Background checks are required as part of the volunteer selection process. Comply with Alzheimer’s Association volunteer policies and procedures. Participate in initial training and ongoing education about Alzheimer’s, dementia and the Alzheimer's Association. Volunteers known as Community Educators deliver Association presentations. Community Educators deliver Alzheimer’s Association core curricula - known as Common Programs - using prepared training materials and specific programming. Common program topics are related to living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. As a Community Educator, you will primarily deliver Common Programs which are 30-60 minute interactive sessions with clear learning objectives that result in increased understanding, development of new skills and changes in attitude and/or behavior. Key Activities include: -Deliver approximately 12 presentations annually using prepared Alzheimer’s Association evidence-based consumer education programs on a variety of care and support topics. -Collaborate with local Association staff to expand programs by securing community partners, scheduling presentations, delivering the programs, and managing needed materials. -Serve as presenter for chapter-scheduled education programs and conferences. -Connect people with additional Association services and volunteer opportunities by proactively making referrals to Alzheimer's Association programs & free 24/7 Helpline.
