Mission Statement

The Texas PTA Mission is three-fold:- To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before government agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect children; and- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of the state and the nation.

Description

The Texas PTA, a private non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, was founded in 1909 and has grown to become the largest child advocacy organization in the state serving over 700,000 members and 2,600 local units. Throughout our 91-year history, Texas PTA has continued to make a positive impact on the educational, social and cultural development of Texas children.
