Mission Statement

Our program is based on the philosophy that reading skills are the foundation for virtually all learning, and that learning to read at an early age greatly improves a child's chances for success. Further, early academic success enhances a child's self-esteem, thereby improving his or her chances of avoiding youthful self-destructive behavior and maturing into a productive adult.

Description

This program consists of one-on-one tutoring sessions with kindergarten through grade 3 students. During each half hour session the tutor reads to and with the child and develops activities and conversation that enhances the child's self-esteem and confidence in reading.
