Digital Promise

Description

The Technology Gap in America imposes obstacles based upon income, education, race, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, and age that inhibit equal opportunity to education, employment, and information. In response to this growing problem, community members, including residents and owners of affordable housing developments, private and public organizations, and small and large businesses combined efforts and formed Digital Promise. Digital Promise's goal is to dismantle barriers to technology by promoting Computer Learning Centers and ensuring their sustainability. In order to achieve this, Digital Promise provides its members with a range of services and resources including: Hardware/Software Clearinghouse, a Resource Guide, networking sessions, announcements of local workshops, and educational classes for staff and volunteers at the centers.
