With One Voice, in collaboration with local community groups, finds it imperative to provide accurate information on the causes and effects of suicide and to develop and suicide prevention interventions. With One Voice then goes to the next key phase of developing a sucide prevention strategy and a crisis management team within the school and community. 1. To bring students, families, schools, and communities together to energize suicide prevention programs. 2. To help teachers, counselors, youth workers, parents and other leaders of young people recognize and identify the characteristics of depression and hopelessness that lead to suicide. 3. Through a resource manual and crisis intervention plan, provide appropriate intervention and referral for suicide, depression, and other problems that affect our youth. 4. To offer activities which will raise student awareness and knowledge about suicide, depression, and related topics by providing pre and post activities. 5. To provide students with local and national hotlines numbers and 24 hour emergency care centers.

With One Voice is a musical drama, suicide prevention and crisis intervention program that deals with issues that sometime lead an individual to dangerous the consideration of suicide. This program is designed to educate and foster awareness in students, parents, and communities to diminish the alarming suicide statistics. Using the element of music and drama, the play generates emotion, then presents ways to respond that can inspire healing. With One Voice is designed to encourage and empower youth to help take control of this tragic problem. The Musical production stimulates a desire to help others while the training provides the knowledge base and tools to help others effectively. This program is geared for schools and communities, and can enhance other prevention programs that may already be in place.
