Silver Key Senior Services has been serving seniors in the Pikes Peak region for over 53 years. We are seeking caring and supportive long-term companionship volunteers to visit the homes of local seniors to provide that social connectivity they are seeking for appointments, errands, social outings, and home visits on the south end of Colorado Springs. Ensure regular documentation of the visit with the senior, maintain confidentiality, participate in education and training classes. Looking for individuals with the sensitivity and understanding of seniors to glean and simulate information from observation. Establish good boundaries and ability to set appropriate limits. Schedule is pretty flexible with 1-2 hours shift each week around the client's needs. Will be subject to a background check, drug test, and MVR check since you will drive you own vehicle to the home of clients. Silver Key has a brand new digital experience hub to provide classes and a lab for seniors to learn more about technology! Seeking 2-3 volunteers to teach computer classes on a variety of topics for seniors a few days per week. Computer classes are roughly no more than 10 people and an opportunity to teach seniors about technology, social media, fraud scams, and other important topics. Must be willing to complete online learning training through AARP OATS program to learn the material and database system before training the Silver Key clients.

Location: Silver Key Thrift Stores in Colorado Springs AND Monument/Tri-Lakes Morning and Afternoon Volunteers Shifts Specific Volunteer Needs: Cashiering Volunteers Get your smile and small talk ready and help us with customer service behind the counter! We need some multitaskers to help us with cashiering, answering the phone, checking voicemail, and small projects as needed. Training and continued support will be provided. This is a great opportunity to engage with the community and get to know our wonderful regulars. Clothing Processing Volunteers Calling all detail-oriented people! We are looking for 2-4 Volunteers to help us spot the stains, rips and wear on clothing before it hits the sales floor. This is a critical role as the more clothing we churn out, the more revenue is generated to support senior services. Plus, it is a lot of fun seeing all the great, fun and odd donations that come through the warehouse. Once clothing is processed, these individuals will price, stock and organize the items on the sales floor. The shifts are for 3 - 4 hour shifts. With AM and PM shifts available from Monday-Friday (Note: we can be flexible on scheduling). This role would involve occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs. (bags of clothing can be heavy!). and standing. This role could help in other areas if interested (cashiering, answering phone, customer service). Durable Medical Volunteer It is broke, but we can fix it- with your help! We need one or two volunteers to work with and repair durable medical equipment by swapping out broken components with good pieces. This would also require being trained on how to use our Hub Scrub machine which cleans and sanitizes all equipment prior to working with it. Putting together the clean equipment; learn the pricing of equipment; repairing equipment along with organizing and harvesting spare parts to be used to fix equipment, help us get more affordable medical equipment into the hands of our community. This opportunity requires one-to-two days a week, three-to-four-hour shifts. This would involve lifting and standing. (Hint, this is a great opportunity for two friends to tinker and talk while volunteering)

We are seeking 1-2 volunteers to assist at Silver Key Connections Café located at St. Andrews Church in Manitou Springs. The volunteer shift is from 11am-12:45pm during the week day.
