GWArc's mission is to foster a high quality of life for the people we serve by maximizing opportunities to live, work and socialize as productive members of the community. In order to meet this mission GWArc wholeheartedly endorses the principles of providing services predicated upon consumer choice, consumer empowerment, and inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life.

Description

The Greater Waltham Arc, Inc., (GWArc), is a private, nonprofit agency which proudly provides services to approximately 500 children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family members each year. Founded in 1956 by a group of concerned parents, GWArc serves the communities of Waltham, Watertown, Newton, Arlington, Lexington, Belmont, Cambridge, Wellesley, Somerville and Boston. For over 55 years, GWArc has provided quality services to adults, adolescents and children with developmental disabilities in the greater Waltham area. We are committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities and firmly believe that all people can make a significant positive contribution to their community, given the appropriate supports. Our programs reflect this belief and we strive to continually increase the relevance and variety of their contributions.
