Mission Statement

Junior Achievement will prepare young people to successfully navigate their economic future. Through learning experiences that simulate future success and support career discovery, JA programs provide students with the financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness skills that they will need to become responsible citizens and succeed in a global economy.

Description

Junior Achievement has been helping Wisconsin youth to recognize how their talent and abilities can create better lives for themselves and those around them since 1941. JA brings volunteers from the community face to face with students for the simplest of human interaction--sharing. Volunteers make economic concepts relevant, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, and challenge the students to excel. Annually over 133,000 young people, kindergarten through 12th grade, participate in programs to help them use information, think critically, and solve complex problems.

I was a student of JA in high school and have been a volunteer for too many years to count!! It is soooo easy to do and has so many rewards! I volunteer twice a year and try to teach different grades to keep it fun and interesting.

This is a great organization if you want to help kids learn. They provide you all the materials and you just spend 30-40 minutes once a week for 5-6 weeks presenting and sharing with the kids. They always welcome you with open arms and you will find it a great break from your work day!
