Mission Statement

New Directions Institute for Infant Brain Development's mission is 1) to collect the latest neuroscientific brain research, translate it into practical applications for caregivers, and disseminate it for public use; 2) to carry the message to as many people as possible that the first years of life are vital to a child's future success; 3) to educate new parents about the long lasting importance of their children from birth to three years of age; 4) and to influence child-care providers to give the maximum amount of attention possible to healthy, early brain development.

Description

New Directions Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving children's learning potential by finding research-based strategies that focus on the healthy brain development of indants. Our work is based on "hard research" from some of the top medical research facilities in the United States, rather than on sociological research that can be open to multiple interpretations. Science has provided that knowledge, which New Directions Institute has translated into simple principles to empower parents and caregivers. Our children are our most precious resource, and we now have the capacity to give them a tremendous learning advantage as they begin their lives...it is never too early to start.
