Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement is an Evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. It's message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

At The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC), we believe in restoring individuals to their loved ones through a comprehensive program that includes counseling, work therapy and spiritual development.

A 130-bed, long-term rehabilitation program (6-12 mos) for men with chemical dependency issues. This is a work-therapy based, spiritually-focused program.

The ARC program is provided at no cost to participants or to the community. The program is almost entirely funded by monetary and in-kind donations from generous individuals.

Would you recommend Salvation Army Oakland ARC?

I was a resident of the Oakland ARC from 11/87 thru 4/88. I have been sober since. I liked the fact that I worked a forty hour week while a resident. (I did not feel like I was being a bum). I came in as a homless drunk. Thanks for everything!!
