Mission Statement

Global Action Plan, creator of the Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign and the Livable Neighborhood Program, is an international, non-profit environmental education organization. The Philadelphia Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign is a local, neighborhood based community program that promotes the Livable Neighborhood Program. LNP helps neighbors create healthier, safer and more beautiful places to live within an urban environment.

Description

A neighborhood initiator helps Campaign staff bring five to eight households together to form a Team. The team meets 7 times over a four-month period to carry out the actions they choose from the Livable Neighborhood Program workbook. The workbook covers four topics: health and safety, beautification and greening, resource sharing and community building. LNP enables neighbors on a block to take the actions necessary to improve their block. The best way to learn more about how to become involved in the Livable Neighborhood Program in Philadelphia is to attend one of our weekly Open House Presentations. Our Open House Presentations are a one hour long introduction to the Livable Neighborhood Program that explain how LNP Teams help neighbors create healthier, safer and more beautiful places to live while they get to know each other better. These presentations are free and open to the public. See below for when and where. Registration is required in advance - please contact us at 215-751-9398 or ecoteams@mindspring.com.
