Mission Statement

The New England Anti-Vivisection Society (NEAVS), founded in 1895, works to expose and replace animal experiments in laboratories and classrooms with ethically and scientifically responsible modern research methods. This is accomplished through educational programs, legislative initiatives, public awareness and outreach programs, and publications.

Description

The New England Anti-Vivisection Society, a national animal protection organization committed to protecting all animals from painful, harmful, invasive or lethal experimentation practiced in educational training programs or used for purposes of scientific and medical research or testing. NEAVS advocates for the protection of animals through public outreach efforts and publications, through education programs designed to promote compassion and respect for all living creatures, and through support of legislative initiatives intended for the protection of all animals. Our board and staff consist of scientists, doctors, psychologists, lawyers, veterinarians, teachers, and other dedicated professionals who are committed to ending all manner of experimentation on animals for purposes of research or study. All who are affiliated with NEAVS oppose all such experimentation as ethically and morally repugnant. Our goal is to eliminate animal experimentation that has been proven to provide misleading information and results, often with deadly consequences to humans, in favor of more humane, relevant and constructive non-animal based studies.
