Mission Statement

The mission of AVID Readers (Area Volunteers Instilling Desire) is to promote a lifelong love of reading in the children of Tulsa by recruiting adult and youth volunteers to read books for one hour a week one-to-one with children in local child care centers.

Description

AVID Readers encourages children to develop a love for books, to enhance language skills and to prepare them to be excited to learn to read when the time comes. AVID is a new organization, and small right now, but is growing every day.
