Mission Statement

The mission of the Guardian ad Litem Program is to advocate for the best interests of children who are alleged to be abused, neglected or abandoned in court..

Description

The Guardian ad Litem Program is a dedicated team that advocates for Florida’s children who have been removed from their home due to abuse, neglect, and abandonment. These children are placed in the protection of the state and the child welfare system. The sole purpose of this Program is to exclusively focus on the child’s progress until he or she is placed in a permanent and safe home once again. Our Volunteer Child Advocates visit children regularly to understand their circumstances, wishes, and needs. We currently represent over 650 children within Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy, and Union Counties, yet over 100 precious children are in need of an advocate. Children receive the best advocacy when there is a Volunteer Child Advocate assigned to their case, and we are in need of more volunteers like you!
