Description
The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program is an organization consisting of community volunteers working as a team with staff members to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system. Volunteers visit the children at least monthly, assessing the child's well-being and care. The Volunteer also contacts different sources to gathers information that can be pertinent to the current and future well-being of a child. GAL Volunteers are consistent figures at a time in a child's life when that child may be encountering overwhelming changes.
