The mission of the Consumer Protection Division is to secure, for the people of Washington State, a marketplace free from deceit and unfairness through strong enforcement, effective education, and creative problem solving.

Description

Our Organization takes a 4 step approach to consumer issues: 1 We provide information to consumers to assist them in avoiding problems and dealing with the marketplace. 2 To provide informal mediation services to consumers and businesses to resolve problems. 3 To bring legal action in the name of the State of Washington against businesses which harm the public by repeatedly using unfair and deceptive business practices. 4 To seek change or clarify consumer protection laws through the Legislature.
