The Education Division is one of the largest and most respected arts education providers in the nation, with some 18 annual programs that serve over 1.3 million students and teachers each year. These services include in-school performances and workshops, field trips, teacher training, the publication of curriculum materials, and family events, as well as programs for at-risk youth, disabled children, gifted students, and others with special needs. The Education Division's programming has been endorsed through grants from major private foundations as well as the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department. The Education Division was the first organization to be honored with the California Governor's Award for the Arts.
