The Buffalo Museum of Science, through collections, research, education and interpretation, provides opportunities for all people to develop a scientific understanding of the natural and cultural world with an emphasis on the Greater Niagara Region. The Museum challenges everyone to use their knowledge of science to enhance respect for each other and the environment.
Founded in 1861, the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences operates the Buffalo Museum of Science and the Tifft Nature Preserve. The Museum's collections reflect the Niagara Region and key aspects of distant lands and peoples. Its scientific research illuminates the ancient history of North America and the North Atlantic region as well as phenomena in the natural sciences from around the world.
