Description
The Girls’ Jazz and Blues Society (TGJBS) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering young women, particularly from marginalized communities, through music education and leadership opportunities. Established in February 2022, TGJBS was founded by a group of jazz enthusiasts and educators dedicated to promoting the role of women in jazz, blues, and gospel music. The organization specifically targets girls in the greater Sacramento and Lodi areas, offering workshops, summer camps, and year-round programming that encourages self-expression, builds confidence, and combats gender and racial barriers in the music industry.
