Description

The NASA Space Apps Challenge, founded in 2012, has become the largest annual hackathon in the world. While the top projects are recognized as Global Winners, NASA Space Apps is all about collaboration.

The hackathon invites coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and innovators to collaborate and engage with NASA’s open data. Participants worldwide come together to solve the challenges we face on Earth and in space. It’s an event that encourages creative problem-solving and fosters a community that values collaboration across borders, sectors, and cultures.

During the Space Apps Challenge, teams use free and open data provided by NASA and its Space Agency Partners to address real-world problems. NASA experts design these challenges, covering a wide range of topics, including software development, storytelling, astrophysics, space exploration, and more.
