Mission Statement
The Improv Place is a nonprofit committed to empowering disadvantaged and underrepresented communities through the transformative power of improv and comedy. We center diversity, equity, and inclusion in everything we do--creating accessible spaces where people of all backgrounds can build confidence, connect authentically, and develop their creative voice. Through performances, workshops, and education, we use improvisation as a catalyst for self-expression, healing, and social change.

Our Goals
Increase access to improv and performance training for underrepresented communities
Inspire confidence, collaboration, and creativity in individuals of all ages
Use improv to promote mental wellness, empathy, and inclusive storytelling
Create pathways for emerging performers and teaching artists to develop their craft
What We Do
Improv Jams: Free and low-cost drop-in sessions where people of all experience levels can play, learn, and connect in a fun, supportive environment
Workshops & Classes: Skills-based learning for beginners, educators, artists, and community groups, often focused on confidence, communication, and collaboration
Performances & Showcases: Inclusive comedy shows that celebrate diverse voices and fresh perspectives
Community Partnerships: Collaborations with schools, libraries, and nonprofits to bring improv to youth, elders, and underserved populations
