About Talking Tree: Talking Tree (talkingtree.app) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit making legal support accessible for startups, small businesses, and first-time founders. We provide lawyer-built AI tools, contract templates, and plain-English legal education-because legal help shouldn’t be reserved for those who can afford expensive law firms or pricey software. Role Summary: As a University/Startup Community Ambassador, you'll help us connect with student founders, entrepreneurship centers, incubators, and campus organizations that could benefit from Talking Tree’s free and low-cost legal tools. You’ll play a direct role in helping first-time founders access the legal resources they need to build stronger, more sustainable businesses-without breaking their budgets. Responsibilities: - Identify and connect with entrepreneurship programs, incubators, and startup communities at your university or local schools - Share Talking Tree’s mission, tools, and resources with students, founders, and startup mentors - Help onboard student founders who need legal templates, AI tools, or educational materials - Share feedback from students and programs to help us improve our offerings - Promote Talking Tree at events, workshops, or startup competitions where appropriate Ideal Background: - Current student or recent alum involved in entrepreneurship, law, business, or campus leadership - Connected with entrepreneurship clubs, startup centers, or university incubators - Strong communication and networking skills - Passionate about startups, small business, legal access, and making an impact Time Commitment: Flexible-typically 2-4 hours per week, but may vary depending on events or opportunities. Role Summary: We’re looking for passionate, friendly, and proactive Outreach Ambassadors to help spread the word about Talking Tree. Whether you’re a student, professional, or someone who believes legal support shouldn’t be a luxury, this is your chance to make a difference. What You’ll Do: - Share Talking Tree with communities that need us most: first-time founders, small business owners, students, nonprofits - Help us grow our presence online and offline-via social media, newsletters, word of mouth, events, and partner orgs - Support community engagement campaigns or partnerships (as needed) - Bring in ideas for how we can better reach people who could benefit from our tools What You’ll Gain: - Experience in nonprofit outreach and community-building - Flexible, remote volunteering with a mission-driven team - The chance to directly support underserved entrepreneurs - Resume boost + potential for a letter of recommendation Time Commitment: Flexible. Talking Tree was founded by a tech attorney who, after moving from a Fortune 100 company to a midsized public one, saw how even well-resourced legal teams struggled with the cost of commercial legaltech tools. If they couldn’t afford it, how could a scrappy startup? So, we built an alternative. With a team of engineers, NLP researchers, and legal experts, Talking Tree now offers affordable, nonprofit-built tools at true operational cost.
